ABOUT ME

Born and raised in beautiful, nature-rich Cape Town in South Africa, Spain called me from an early age with its loud, passionate and playful culture, its rich history, boisterous language and sunny weather. I arrived in 2015 after travelling and working in Asia and the Caribbean. And I decided to stay. Why? Spain is where I feel it is easiest to be authentic me. Where I found the least resistance to being who I truly am, allowing me to peel back all the layers and masks I had collected along the way to hide myself in exchange for what I thought would allow me to be loved.

And at the same time, South Africa is forever in my heart. It is tough living far from home, with a big part of me feeling it so belongs to my gorgeous country and its vibrant, friendly, resilient people. And that is why there’s nothing that gives me greater fulfillment than having the opportunity to include among my clients South Africans, in SA or living abroad like myself. It makes the work I do all the more meaningful.

MY PASSION FOR GESTALT THERAPY

“We can’t take clients anywhere that we haven’t been ourselves”.

Gestalt therapy - a holistic, experiential and person-centred approach - is a deep type of therapy that centres around increasing self-awareness to get to the core of our lived experiences, emotions and our difficulties in being authentic with ourselves and others.

Training as a Gestalt therapist requires us to go through our own therapeutic journey, individually and with our peers. I wholeheartedly believe in my practice and in Gestalt therapy only because I have seen first person the transformation in my own life and in that of so many others. I don’t believe in or trust in the emotional support offered by therapists who have not undergone their own therapeutic process.

I am real. I am human. I have flaws, fears, my own personality. I do not pretend to be perfect. I have been through my own process and I know both the work it takes & how fulfilling and rewarding the work can be!

Wellbeing requires a lifelong dedication to taking care of oneself. My own therapeutic process has given me the resources to support myself. And I know that with the right tools you can do the same!

If during our counselling process you need diagnosis or treatment for mental health disorders, experience a mental health crisis, or experience suicidal inclinations and are at risk of self-harm, I require that you seek and contact a licensed clinical psychologist and/or medical professional for an assessment and possible clinical treatment, either alongside or instead of our counselling process. We will discuss this openly.
